-Can you tell us a little bit about you and why you chose to study law?
My name is Samantha, and I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia. I am a graduate of the University of Southern California, where I received my bachelor’s degree in public relations. Living in Los Angeles enabled me to gain experience working in the entertainment industry, which ultimately led me to pursue my career in entertainment law. I was initially attracted to the prospect of combining the writing, and interpersonal skills necessary to my public relations major, with the analytical and research skills tantamount to becoming a great lawyer. I then realized I could bring in my love for the arts to becoming an entertainment lawyer. Three years after this realization, I now begin my final year at Villanova Law and I am very excited to bring my passions to PVLA!
-Do you have an arts background and if so, in what?
Aside from taking up painting and drawing over the summer, I have a few years of songwriting under my belt. In my free time, I enjoy writing and producing songs on my laptop!
-What are you looking forward to in terms of your time volunteering for PVLA?
There’s so much that I am looking forward to in terms of my time volunteering for PVLA, but I am most excited about connecting with the Philadelphia arts community. Our city has such a robust pool of talented artists, so I am really looking forward to advocating for like-minded creatives.
